Behind the Badge
Preamplifier
The preamplifier input circuitry must accept the entire output of the source without being overloaded, while the frequency response and level of input signals must be normalised. The signal then needs further conditioning to ensure that the power amplifier is never driven outside its operating parameters. All our preamplifiers have a frequency response to within 1dB between 20Hz and 20kHz and offer perfect stability under all working conditions. There are no switched filters, tone or loudness controls on Naim preamplifiers; they can never improve quality of signal, and there is a sharp penalty for their use in terms of loss of musical information.
