Test Technician

Hours of work:

You are required to work 37.5 hours a week.

A flexible approach is essential as you may be required to work outside of normal hours to achieve organisational goals.

Purpose of Role/Key Objectives

Working as a Test Technician designing, building and verifying test jigs for use in production and at our contract manufacturing suppliers.  All work carried out within this department requires the need to embrace Naim’s design ethos and QA working practices.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Test Requirements capture for NPD and NPI
  • Test Board schematic/layout design and development for NPD and NPI
  • Jig design, construction, fabrication and commissioning
  • Maintain, Service and Repair of current legacy Production Test Jigs in Production and Service departments
  • Resolve Production and Service test issues as a required by the business
  • Support 8D initiatives and continuous improvement programmes for Test Equipment
  • Author clear and concise Test Process Instructions for new Test Jigs and deliver training to Production/Service / supplier staff
  • Research and Develop new Test Technologies to deliver more effective test solutions for Manufacturing
  • Update Automated Test Equipment with new Test scripts to support NPD / NPI product rollout.

Skills & Requirements

  • Test jig prototyping
  • Electro-mechanical build
  • Use of hand & power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics
  • Good working electronics knowledge of components and application
  • Ability to write assembly language code
  • Good soldering and re-work ability
  • IT proficient

Qualification / Experience

  • Electronic engineering based HNC level or relevant work experience
  • Experience of test equipment construction and verification for analogue and/or audio applications.
