Technical Marketing Manager

Purpose of Role/Key Objectives

Naim Audio is seeking a Technical Marketing Manager to play a key role in bringing our award-winning hi-fi products to market, and clearly communicating their capabilities to distributors, dealers and end customers.You will be central to the product development process: from charting emerging technologies and market opportunities, to co-ordinating product launches, through to crafting engaging technical content for our website, product guides, support resources and more. You will be expected to work across the business to develop an in-depth knowledge of the audio market in general, our customers and competitors.  You will initiate informed discussion with regards to developing successful product strategies and ranges. You will contribute significantly to the Concept phase (phase 0) of the NPD process, by defining new product ideas, based on customers’ needs, new technologies and industry and competitor trends.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Existing Product range and product strategies

·         Develop and maintain all relevant marketing copy and written specifications with regards to the existing product range, including product guides, white papers, training documentation, ensuring that this data is accurate and current.

·          Ensure that all product- related queries are logged consolidated and collated for reporting and product development purposes.

New Product range and product strategies

·          Analyse key market trends, forecast market demand, produce relevant reporting as required.

·          Analyse customer need and demand and produce relevant reporting as required.

·          Perform competitor analysis and produce relevant reporting as required.

·         Work directly with R & D to develop product ideas and concepts, as well as potential product positioning strategies; spot opportunities for development of white papers; work with R & D to create white papers for new product ranges.

·          Attend and participate with relevant conferences, trade shows and committees as required.

Product launch and Product management

·        Co-ordinate the product launch process, managing both internal and external stakeholders to ensure all assets are delivered on time and to budget using established project management methodology.

·        Be a confident, knowledgeable brand representative in a range of contexts – from press briefings to trade shows, user forums to supplier meetings.

·        Working with R&D technical group to define product roadmap and product specifications.

·        Contribute significantly to the Concept Phase (Phase 0) of Naim NPD process (for products under its responsibility)

·        Support the Project Manager in other NPD process phases, notably: to participate to the Product Feature Prioritisation work with the Project Manager

·        Review the functional specs to ensure consistency with product/feature requirements.

Technical marketing

·        Work with and motivate Sales organisation, distributors and partners

·        Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, conferences and seminars

·        Develop marketing and sales tools: brochures, demonstration toolkits.

Skills & Requirements

·        Demonstrable understanding of and passion for the audio industry

·        Ability to utilise data and reporting successfully to inform ideas, develop them, and communicate those ideas, in a way that motivates and enthuses others.

·        Demonstrable attention to detail

·        Demonstrable, all round, excellent communication and presentation capabilities

·        Demonstrable project planning, organising & monitoring skills

Qualification / Experience

Graduate in marketing or relevant discipline, or relevant QBE considered
