UK Sales Executive (London/Midlands)

Purpose of Role/Key Objectives

The UK Sales Executive is primarily responsible for optimising the sales of Naim electronic products and our loudspeaker brand Focal through the selected area of the UK retail network and selected chains. This includes the on-going training and development of retailers & staff to ensure they are knowledgeable, confident and possess the technical skills to demonstrate and set up Naim/Focal Audio systems/products to achieve the best possible performance & sales results. This role is pivotal in providing valuable feedback from our retail/distribution base, communicating the market trends within both the hi-fi and wider home entertainment markets and assessing customer reaction to new product introductions.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities


    ·         Achieve goals and objectives as outlined in the business plan

    ·         Grow and support existing accounts while maximising profits

    ·         Identify and achieve new opportunities

    ·         Create and implement business plans with your accounts


    • To inform and impart knowledge of Naim Audio’s range of products, ethos, philosophy and company objectives to Naim’s specialist retailer and selected distribution network.
    • To act as the interface between retailer/end users and Naim’s internal team, providing feedback on:-
      • Current market trends within the hi-fi and home entertainment markets.
      • Competitor activity.
      • How new product introductions are being received by dealers and the end-users.
      • Seasonal activity – e.g.: feedback on sales over the Christmas period.
      • Information on which retailers and markets are currently performing well and which need more attention.
      • General market information.


    • To ensure the Naim retailer and distribution base has knowledgeable, confident staff with the technical skills to demonstrate and set up Naim Audio systems/products to achieve the best results.

    Promotional Activities

    • To motivate the retailer base to initiate and plan local activities to promote Naim Audio via marketing, music evenings, shows, presentations etc.
    • To plan, organise and present shows and musical evenings at various venues throughout the UK and selected export markets.
    • To attend UK and selected export trade shows, ensuring Naim’s full product range is demonstrated to best effect.

    Credit Control

    • To ensure that retailers/distributors operate their business with Naim Audio within pre-arranged fiscal parameters and, where applicable, review and reassess targets and credit limits.


      • Produce monthly report with sales figures, analysed with the sales team, monitoring sales growth and assessing targets.
      • Play an active role in the regular Sales Team meetings, which involve discussion of products, competitors, market trends etc….
      • All employees have a responsibility for quality and must check the quality of the work they perform.

      Skills & Requirements

      ·         Possess an in depth knowledge of the hi-fi/audio industry and have an awareness of the impact of ‘new technologies’ in the market place. 

      ·         Excellent organisational, administration & time management skills.

      ·         Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

      ·         An enthusiastic, persuasive personality is required along with proven strong motivation skills.

      ·         Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft office and networks.

      ·         Full clean driving licence and possession of a passport are essential.

      ·         Passion for music


      Qualification / Experience

      ·         Maths and English to G.C.S.E. Grade C minimum

      ·         Good experience with and understanding of independent audio retailers.

      ·         Track record of Business Development.

      ·         Proven track record in achieving sales through established relationships.

      Hours of work:

      You are required to work 37.5 hours a week.

      A flexible approach is essential as you may be required to work outside of normal hours to achieve organisational goals. Some travel outside of the UK will also be necessary.
