Production Operative (Experienced Wirer)

Purpose of Role/Key Objectives

To manufacture and test Naim Audio Ltd product as instructed by the relevant team leader, following supplied Process Instructions, master copy and relevant tools, jigs and fixtures, whilst ensuring that required Production targets are met.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·         Produce work according to business requirements.

·         Use various jigs / fixtures &  assemble / wire units in relation to the signed off copy and PI documentation.

·         Ensure that holiday, sickness, performance, behaviour etc. are maintained within company rules and regulations.

·         Attend appropriate meetings, training as determined by the business.

·         Be prepared to assist where appropriate e.g. temporary movement of staff to other departments as determined by the business requirements.

·         Demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude at all times.

·         Project a professional approach.

·         Be respectful to other members of staff at all times.

·         Testing of PCBA’s/product in accordance with procedures and test instructions.


Manual Handling: There will be an aspect of manual handling tasks within this role and there may be a requirement to work at height. Training will be provided for manual handling and the use of steps.

COSHH: You will be using substances which fall under the COSHH regulations. A risk assessment is carried out and PPE is provided when there is a requirement to wear/use these.

Machinery and equipment: The use and cleaning or machinery and equipment will be a requirement within this role and training will be provided

Repetitive tasks: During the assembly process there will be a degree of repetition in the tasks, jigs have been developed and implemented to reduce the strain on the employee

Forklift: A forklift licence is desirable although training will be given where required. Loading and unloading of vehicles will be part of the daily duties, additionally routine checks and maintenance will need to be carried out.



Skills & Requirements

·         Previous experience of soldering and wiring of electronic assemblies is essential.

·         Good communication skills.

·         Good levels of dexterity.

·         Able to follow detailed written instruction with limited supervision.

·         Good interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work well as a team.

·         Coachable.    

·         High level of reliability.

·         Professional approach and attitude.

·         Strong attention to detail.

·         Good time management and organisation.

·         The job holder should be a good team player, able to interact with all other departments easily, and have the ability to multi-task efficiently.
