We are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant for our busy Supply Chain Department. You will be working within a small team, ensuring all stock requirements are processed in line with the system demands. You will be making sure that all orders are expediated and we maintain a 95% OTD for inbound materials. You will have a track record of building and developing relationships with suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply, ensuring our production demands are achieved.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·         Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets

·         Ensure all purchase requests are closed out in line with the operational demand

·         Carry out expediting of all open orders and maintain a 95% confirmation of order schedule.

·         Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the build plan

·         Prepare and develop reports and updates as and when required

·         Work closely with others in the supply chain function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements

·         Adhere to any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors

·         Prepare, raise and manage purchase orders and order schedules

·         Highlight to the Strategic Purchasing team any ongoing poor performance regarding cost, quality and delivery from the suppliers.

·         Update the daily, weekly and monthly reports as requested by the Head of Supply Chain.

·         Work with the Quality teams to ensure we expedite the returns process for all non-confirming materials.

Skills & Requirements

·        Demonstrable understanding of  MRP / ERP

·        Excellent interpersonal skills, and proven experience of developing and building relationships with suppliers

·        Demonstrable analytical skills

·        Intermediate level Microsoft Office including word and excel

Qualification / Experience

Minimum G.C.S.E. Maths and English to Grade C and above

3+ years working in a global supply chain team
