Production Engineer

Purpose of Role/Key Objectives

Our commitment to harness the best talent industry has given us the opportunity to add a Production Engineer to our team for an immediate start. This position is a temporary / fixed term contact for an initial term of 3 months.

Purpose: To ensure that the Production of product within the company is carried out in a qualified Quality, Cost effective, efficient manner. Objectives: Support production process requirements to give repeatability of build and thus reduce operator errors where possible.

Oversee New Production Introduction into mainstream production. Ensure the correct skills, tools, jigs and fixtures are made available to fulfil the purpose. Produce and maintain Process Instruction documentation for all areas of production Support Lean activities Support a Continuous improvement environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Own and be accountable for the production process.

·         Developing, growing and protecting the long term efficiency of production

·         Managing the effective release of new products into production

·         Supporting the NPD team in design for manufacture of future product releases.

·         Co-ordination of all other departments for the successful transition of new products from design through to production

·         Developing and implementing new production methods to increase productivity on the production line.

·         Managing cost containment

·         Responsible for checking jigs/fixtures that are involved in production are effectively used to maximise on productivity & profit

·         Develop various techniques to control production environments

·         Assist with the implementation of staff training programs

·         Estimating production times & costs

·         Establishing key relationships across the business

·         Checking BOM’s for structure & content

·         Producing and maintaining Process instructions for all product builds.

Skills & Requirements

·         Well organised and able to work to tight deadlines

·         Problem solving and analytical skills to identify the root cause and resolve performance blockages

·         Flexible and proactive in approach to the role

·         Ability to work on own initiative

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills

·         A creative thinker with good writing skills

·         Able to demonstrate evidence of ability to build relationships

·         PC literate and numerate

Qualification / Experience

·         Degree qualified or similar Engineering qualification

·         Demonstrable evidence of ability to build relationships with key business areas

·         Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools

·         Solidworks Composer; desirable but not essential
