Here at Naim Audio there is an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our QA team delivering an effective and efficient service to our business.

What you’ll do:

You will play a pivotal support role to the QEHS Manager to facilitate the delivery of all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function. Working collaboratively with suppliers to develop and implement best practices in order to emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variations and waste and provide for continuous improvements to meet all product requirements.

You will also be responsible for collecting root cause analysis in order to provide corrective feedback and ensure that all products meet quality standards and to prevent line stops due to supply issues. 

Ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimise quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. Maintaining the robustness of product builds following new product introductions to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with purchasing department to monitor supplier performance, generating regular reports and administering corrective actions as necessary
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
  • Regular supplier visits in the UK and OUK to validate the process capability and sign off production runs before stock is shipped to Naim
  • Develop SPC methodology to ensure process capability across Naim and also key suppliers
  • Complete supplier and performance audits to enhance process standardization and waste elimination
  • Resolve non-conformance issues with supplied materials and follow up with suppliers for completion of corrective actions
  • Work with the supplier directly, create correction action plans to address process failures
  • Develop standards and requirements for purchased components
  • Support new product launches, ensuring compliance with established standards
  • Evaluate supplier data to initiate process improvement opportunities along the supply chain
  • Inspect products and manufacturing environments to identify potential issues
  • Support the QEHS Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system 
  • Assist with first off sample approvals

  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and deployment examples of leading change

Qualification / Experience

  • 5years + of working in a similar role
  • Lean Sigma trained / Green belt +
  • Clean driving licence as regular travel will be expected in the role
  • Engineering Degree in a manufacturing discipline would be advantageous
  • Lead Auditor Training
  • Understanding electro-mechanical assemblies
  • SPC / TCQ
