Production Engineer

Purpose of Role/Key Objectives

Providing important support to the Manufacturing & Engineering Manager, working as part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible ensuring that production within Naim Audio Ltd is carried out to the highest quality in a cost effective and efficient manner.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Design new processes and equipment to support the development of the production process in order to develop, grow and protect the long term efficiency of production; check BOMs for structure and content; develop techniques to control production environments.

Support production process requirements to give constant ‘build’ as well as design and ensure that the correct skills, tools, jigs and fixtures are available to fulfil purpose. 

Produce and maintain process instructions for product builds.

Oversee new production introduction by managing the effective release of new products into the production area as well as facilitate a lean environment and a culture of continuous improvement.

As a member of the NPD team contribute cross departmentally with the successful transition of new products from design though to production.

Skills & Requirements

You have an Engineering degree or similar Engineering qualification with knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and have demonstrable evidence of your ability to build relationships with key business areas.

Time spent previously in an equally diverse and dynamic environment with the ability to plan and prioritise as well as present data effectively would also be of benefit; as would good analytical and problem solving skills to enable you to identify the root cause of an issue and resolve any performance blockers.

Therefore, you are also flexible and proactive in your approach to a role and able to work on your own initiative.

As this is a key cross functional role within our business it goes without saying that the successful candidate should have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as a good eye to detail in order to convey the strong Group ethos.
