What you’ll do:

Learn all aspects of the finance function which will include assisting with purchase ledger, departmental overheads, FP&A, internal and external reporting and supporting members of the department with ad hoc tasks.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·        Manage departmental overheads with budget owners

·        Ensure overheads are correctly posted in the ledger

·        Review and manage accruals and pre-payments

·        Data download/input from banks to banking spreadsheets

·        Data input from banking spreadsheets to daily cash-flow reports

·        Assist purchase ledger through the posting and electronic filing of processed supplier invoices

·        Assist purchase ledger with expense processing

·        Assist with system costing & pricing

·        Transactional flow monitoring & intervention

·        Data migration to new ERP system

·        Assisting with external information reporting

·        Process & control documentation and proposals for improvements

·        Assist with month end procedures including reporting pack

·        BI report generation & issue resolving

·        Assist external auditors with any information request that is required for audit

The above list of main duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and you may be asked to carry out other ad hoc tasks as and when required.

Skills & Requirements

Who are you?

Your Skills & Requirements include

·        Formal qualification in finance, accountancy or business (A level/AS Level or equiv)

·        or, preferably, AAT Level 2 qualification

·        Thorough understanding of double entry book-keeping

·        Expected to be planning to study, or continue studying towards an accountancy qualification

          (AAT, ACCA or CIMA)

·        Must have basic Excel skills

·        Expected to be a quick learner

·        Interest in management and financial accountancy

·        Must feel comfortable working in a small accounting office where there is a requirement

         to multi task

·        Desire to improve the status quo

·        Ability to problem solve and propose solutions for implementation

·        Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision

·        Comfortable to engage across the business at all levels

·        Accuracy and attention to detail

·        Ability to work to deadlines & plan ahead

·        Team player with flexible attitude

·        Enthusiastic and positive personality

Your Experience includes

·        Previous internship/placement or work experience in a relevant field would be an advantage
