Here at Naim Audio there is an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer with DSP and audio algorithm knowledge to join our passionate in-house R&D team to create world-class, cutting edge audio products.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

In summary you will be responsible for being part of the team that ensures the development of Naim products by designing and implementing embedded software.  Collaborating with our software, hardware and test teams you should be passionate about software development and understand embedded firmware design, electronics, prototype development and debugging.

You will also play a key part in the architectural and technical planning phases as well as be the technical authority on multiple technologies, whilst also reinforcing a culture of collaborative development and good coding practice.

Skills & Requirements

  • Post university training and experience (+8 years) in developing software for embedded products with a proven track record of reliable and maintainable software, familiarity with Git, Jira, Agile). 
  • C / C++ embedded programming skills, DSP algorithms in C code, electronic debugging tools and techniques including experience in designing, implementing and debugging low level drivers.
  • SHARC programming experience using VisualDSP++ and / or CrossCore Embedded; experienced MATLAB user.
  • Unit testing, test driven development and automated testing of embedded systems.

Qualification / Experience

Degree qualified (2:1) in Electronic Engineer, Computer Science or similar engineering related discipline.

Hours of work:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during core working hours of 8.30am to 6.00 pm.  Hybrid working in place 1-2 days a week.
