Here at Naim Audio there is an exciting opportunity for a music-loving ECAD Technician to join the highly skilled and talented team of R&D Electronic Design Engineers providing assistance on ECAD schematics and PCB design maintenance to our range of Focal powered by Naim audio products whilst at the same time developing your PCB design skills.

Unlike most other consumer electronics, Naim Audio products are not designed to be replaced three or four years down the line, they are built for sustainability, as an investment to enable the customer to enjoy many years of incredible musical experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schematic and PCB designs including maintenance via software and component libraries.
  • Maintenance of BOMs and manufacturing data through document management system.
  • Documentation including process instructions, PCB / PCBa manufacturing data.
  • Ensuring ECAD processes are in line with DFMs – liaising with relevant stakeholders to deliver this.
  • Working as part of multi-disciplinary team to meet project and product launch deadlines.

Skills & Requirements

  • Able to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical data.
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Effective presentation skills – ability to present information to stakeholders.
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Office and networks.
  • Full clean driving licence and passport
  • Experience of PCB layout and manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Knowledge of electronic components and ability to interpret electrical component datasheets to extract CAD symbol and footprint information.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical design data.

Hours of work:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during core working hours of 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.  1-2 days remote working.
