Here at Naim Audio there is an exciting opportunity for an Embedded Test System Engineer to join our Operations department delivering an effective and efficient service to our stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Principal responsibilities

In summary you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Design and develop code for embedded systems to control test equipment using C, C++, Python, SQL, C# .NET, PHP languages
  • Embedded experience working with different microcontrollers and platforms (e.g. ARM, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Linux and RTOS environments).
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols (Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Thread, Bluetooth etc).
  • Hardware and Software Integration of embedded and test systems
  • Design Analogue Audio circuits, schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Design Digital microprocessor circuits, schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Creating test specifications and developing test equipment to meet these criteria for production line use.
  • Support new production introduction into mainstream production.
  • Ensure the correct skills, tools, jigs and fixtures are made available to fulfil the purpose.
  • Produce and maintain process instruction documentation for all areas of production within Naim Audio Ltd.
  • Support lean activities as used within Naim Audio Ltd
  • Support an environment and culture of continuous improvement.

Skills & Requirements

Personal Attributes, Skills and experience

  • Experience in an electronic manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable evidence of ability to build relationships with key business areas
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools
  • Experience with C, C++, Python, SQL, C# .NET, PHP languages
  • Electronic and PCB design Mentor Graphics
  • 3+ years of relevant hardware/software development of embedded systems
  • Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a General Engineering
  • Looking for someone who has experience of working on both hardware and software: ideally someone who started as an electronic hardware engineer
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team. Ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
  • Capability of producing detailed and accurate software design and report documentation
  • Methodical approach to problem solving and ability to use own initiative.
  • Writing and maintaining technical documentation
  • Flexible and proactive in approach to the role
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of ability to build relationships
  • Passionate and eclectic music lover – desirable but not essential!

Qualification / Experience

  • Degree qualified or similar Engineering qualification

37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday
