Resolving Common App Issues

The Focal & Naim app is designed to provide seamless control of streaming products, but occasional issues such as slowness, crashes, or device discovery problems can occur. This guide outlines the most common causes and how to resolve them.


1. The App Is Slow or Unresponsive

If the app feels sluggish or takes time to respond:

  • Close down the app completely and reopen it.
  • Clear the app cache (on Android) or reinstall the app (on iOS or Android).
  • Ensure your mobile device is running the latest OS version.
  • Check that the Focal & Naim app is up to date via the App Store or Google Play.


2. The App Keeps Crashing

If the app crashes repeatedly:

  • Delete and reinstall the app to ensure a clean installation.
  • Restart your mobile device.
  • Make sure no other apps are interfering with network access or background processes.
  • If the issue persists, check for any available firmware updates for your Naim product.


3. The App Can’t Find the Product After a Firmware Update

If your product no longer appears in the app after a firmware update:

  • Power cycle both your Naim product and your router.
  • Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same network as the Naim product.
  • Wait a few minutes after rebooting for the product to reappear.
  • If needed, re-add the product manually in the app.


4. The App No Longer Shows My Naim Products

If your products disappear from the app:

  • Confirm that the product is powered on and connected to the network.
  • Restart the app and your mobile device.
  • Check that your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection is stable.
  • If using a mesh network, ensure your mobile device and Naim product are connected to the same node.
