If the remote control isn’t working with your Naim product, there are a few key areas to check. These steps apply to all models that include an IR or Zigbee remote, including products like the NDX 2 and ND555.
1. Check the Batteries
Ensure the batteries are correctly inserted and not depleted.
Replace with fresh batteries if necessary.
Make sure the battery contacts are clean and properly aligned.
2. Confirm Remote Pairing (for Zigbee Remotes)
Some Naim products use a Zigbee remote that must be paired with the unit:
If the remote is unresponsive out of the box, it may not be paired.
Follow the pairing instructions in the product’s Quick Start Guide or user manual.
Typically, this involves holding a specific button combination while the unit is powered on.
3. Check Line of Sight (for IR Remotes)
Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the front panel of the unit.
Avoid obstructions or reflective surfaces that may interfere with the IR signal.
4. Restart the Product
Power off the Naim unit completely.
Wait a few seconds, then power it back on.
Try using the remote again once the unit has fully restarted.
5. Use the Focal & Naim App as a Backup
If the remote remains unresponsive, the Focal &Naim app can be used to control all major functions, including input selection, volume, and playback.
