Beneath its anodised aluminium skin Mu-so is alive with innovation.

At its heart sits an active arrangement of amplifiers inspired by the technology we developed to create the ultimate audio system for Bentley.

Six 75 watt amplifiers deliver a total of 450 watts of power, paired with a carefully designed porting system for serious bass kick from a small cabinet.

Power means nothing without control. That’s why Mu-so features a 32-bit digital signal processor capable of millions of calculations per second. It’s the audio brain of the system, running software fine-tuned in our listening room to extract every last drop of performance from your music.

Design Innovation

There are many design elements that make Mu-so unique.

The wooden speaker cabinet is wrapped in a layer of anodised aluminium to provide a natural, distortion-free sound with an extruded aluminium heatsink maximising thermal performance.

Mu-so also features two patents: the illumination system around the touch panel interface took months to perfect and WiFi antennae hidden in the heatsinks deliver robust connectivity, with no external aerial.

Customisation

Mu-so is supplied with a Classic Naim Black speaker grille as standard.

You can add a new dimension of colour to complement your living space and style. Select from Deep Blue, Vibrant Red and Burnt Orange grilles above.

You can purchase these grilles from the link below and select Mu-so retailers.

BASS REFLEX SYSTEM
Two large custom bass drivers are supported by a sophisticated porting system with an outlet at the end of the cabinet. It was carefully designed to move large volumes of air with low turbulence for richly textured, low distortion bass.
ACRYLIC BASE
The whole Mu-so cabinet sits on an illuminated base of high-grade acrylic which provides the foundation for the electronics and speakers to shine.
DSP
The Mu-so audio brain is a 32-bit digital signal processor with software fine-tuned by our engineers in the listening room. It controls the flow of music information to each speaker and benefits from the developments we made in designing the best in-car audio systems for Bentley motors. Two EQ settings tailor sound for close to and away from room boundaries for superb sound quality anywhere in your home.
SILK-DOME TWEETERS
Silk dome tweeters were chosen through listening tests to replace the traditional metal cones found in many wireless speakers for their benefit to sound quality.
MID-RANGE DRIVERS
Custom mid-range drivers provide crystal clear speech and emotively powerful vocals. We found through tests that positioning them as the outermost driver aided even sound dispersion.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Startling Sound! Had my Mu-so for over a year now, still astonished by its sound, have been fortunate to own Naim Pre/Power amps for years and love the Naim sound, so was so impressed with how extraordinarily good the Mu-so sounds for such a small cabinet, I love the full rich and immersive sound I get from it. I am very bad at getting the absolute best from it, and recently dabbled with the Tidal service, the 320 kB stuff really opens the device up to another level. Really need to find out how I can convert my library to make use of the better codecs available, but right out the box this speaker excels, with a little effort though it can really fly. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home, at last. Am ex-audio consultant with moderately strong obsessional traits , aka selective. Spent about a week doing A-B comparisons with leading competitors in soundrooms. Mu-so was, in my opinion, unequivocally superior in terms of the absolute accuracy. Clean electronics and ample amplification makes for a startling quality of reproduction at very low RMS output - and remains so at party volume. Easy to set up. Tolerant of iffy bandwidth in my somewhat remote chalet. Before you buy anything else, listen to the same track, same volume, ‘flat’ EQ, on the Mu-so vs the purported competition. Then, sigh...and consider your fate if you compromise!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all round system punches above its weight! I have had this system for 12 months now, and it never fails to impress. Great for movies, Aiplay. The internet radio is excellent, providing radio around the world. For me it’s the reassurance that the system is a “reference” in terms of zero distortion and that the dramatic range is fully explored. Gives you confidence that your hearing the material as it was intended. We have it placed centre below the television, providing a great sound stage for movie scores and sound effects. Highly recommended. Good quality British design. Their amplifiers are renowned, I know that this expertise has been applied to the design of this system, you can hear it...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I huffed and I puffed, and it blew my house down! Got my first Naim in 1985 - the classic 42/110 preamp-power amp. Over the decades the Naim towers have grown and have provided glorious music. Yet finally, John and the team at Loud and Clear in Glasgow persuaded me to try a Mu-so. Get with the 21st century is what they really meant. And what a sound! Articulate and exciting. Room-filling? House filling, more like. Brilliant, stylish (even Beloved likes it), just great in every room. Internet radio, networked music, Spotify, Air Play – dead easy! Sure, the flagship system is great, but the Mu-so may be (gulp) greater. If you’ve never had Naim, get one. If you’ve got Naim kit already, get one.
